Itinerary

Your representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo to begin your excursion to the famous sites of Fayoum, located approximately 95 km southwest of Cairo.
All visits today will be within Wadi El Rayan, a protected area designated in 1989. Your tour will start with a visit to Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales), situated about 90 km from Fayoum. Wadi Hitan lies within Wadi El Rayan and has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site due to the remarkable 40-million-year-old whale fossils discovered there, offering extraordinary insight into the evolution of whales.
On the way to the waterfalls, you will stop at Mudawara Mountain, a stunning natural viewpoint overlooking the desert landscape and lakes. The tour then continues to the famous waterfalls of Wadi El Rayan. This natural depression in the Western Desert consists of two lakes connected by Egypt’s only waterfalls, formed in 1970 by the overflow of agricultural drainage water from Fayoum farmlands.
A late lunch will be served at a good quality local restaurant. Afterward, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo.
